Unlocking Four Key Leadership Insights: SheEO Podcast with Margie Newman Tsay

by | May 28, 2024

At Intesa Communications Group, we support clients in times of crisis and opportunity by helping them communicate and advocate with confidence. It’s the core of what we do, and one could say it’s our superpower.

Amidst the ever-evolving landscape of business and communications, one truth remains constant: the power of community and the lessons it offers. In Margie’s 12-year journey as the founding partner of Intesa (a certified women business enterprise), she’s drawn inspiration from both the challengers and the cheerleaders, recognizing the vital role of a supportive network of folks who are willing to share insights and lessons learned.

In that spirit, Margie recently joined City of San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones on her SheEO Lead-In podcast for a dynamic discussion about women in leadership, communications, and thriving in today’s fast-paced world.

Each week, the SheEO podcast holds candid conversations with influential women as they drive, strive, and thrive on the road to business success and build a purposeful life. It was an honor to join the ranks of her other featured guests including business leaders, philanthropists, professors, startup founders, and incredible women on the highs and lows of their personal journeys.

On the podcast, Margie shared four key insights that are game changers for fellow other “SheEOs” out there who are navigating their own paths to success:

  1. Be Confident: Confidence is the cornerstone of effective leadership. It’s not just about knowing what to do, but also having the belief in oneself to do it and do it well. She’s seen firsthand how confidence can empower leaders to navigate through the toughest challenges and have built an entire business around confidence.
  2. Know Your Worth: Women often face challenges when it comes to advocating for their worth in the workplace. The pay equity scale is still unbalanced. It’s essential to recognize and communicate the value we bring to the table without hesitation or apology. It’s time to say “good-bye” to the office cardigan, suit-up, and know your worth.
  3. Support Others’ Successes: Building a strong support network is key to personal and professional growth. Surround yourself with individuals who genuinely want to see you shine and who will uplift, hold you accountable, and encourage you along the way. If you do that, you will do your best work.
  4. Control Your Narrative: Take ownership of your story and how others should see you. Whether it’s addressing an elephant in the room head-on, or effectively managing up, it’s crucial to communicate your value and vision clearly.

And we don’t just talk the talk – we put these principles into practice every day. As a result, we’re proud that Intesa is on speed dial for many influential leaders across our San Diego region. Clients come to us for many services, including executive coaching, reputation management, communications strategy, and media placement. Our intentionally small team of experts can help you navigate government relations and public affairs so that you and your organization can radiate confidence.
